HELAT

Return to Techno

I backed away from my music career in 2011, but I continued producing, following, buying, and DJing music as a personal hobby. Albeit at a glacial pace. Since winding down the Let's Go Outside moniker, I have gravitated towards the more intense sounds of modern big room techno. And I have been inspired to dip a toe or two back into it.

I started recording my DJ sets to listen to on long runs, and making new music to add to those DJ sets. After noticing I had been recording a new set every month, I turned it into a podcast series, and compiled my production into EPs on Bandcamp.

I mangled two ancient words for "breathe" and "light" into the word "Helat". Then I learned that it meant "healed" in some Scandinavian languages. This confirmed my choice for the name.
