In 2009, I had pretty much abandoned web work for physical pieces written in native software. ofxMagnetic was an openFrameworks plug-in I developed which trivialized the hardware integration of the DIY systems we were using. It unlocked an array of creative applications and natural ways of interacting with computers. I also went deeper into OpenGL and GLSL shaders than I ever had.

I built my own music software in my free time. I created a DJ app for Android named "Basement", so I always had a way to DJ at afterparties. I used ofxMagnetic to create a touchscreen controller for Ableton Live. Then I eventually I wrote my own music performance software with a custom audio engine for my DIY touchscreen to replace Live.
